Just as he unbelted himself, the ground began to shudder. He latched on to the railing and held himself up, waiting for it to subside. Hannah and Violet just looked at each other, both nauseated from the shaky trip. When they had gathered their things and slung them across their backs, Adam punched the door code and it slid open, the contact ramp moving into place. Beyond, the hardtop paving of a landing strip.

Adam was the first one out, and his eyes fixed on the strange buildings far off in the distance. The architecture was odd—all curved at the top with strange embellishments. But something about them was off, and he couldn’t quite place it. He could’ve probably questioned all that was in front of him, from the strange fauna, towering trees, and large, leathery birds flying overhead, but the next thing that happened cleared his mind of all these things. The ground shook again, and he whipped around, sure that was the source of it.

Just in front of him was a giant pair of feet.

The toes were simply massive, each one half as long as Adam’s whole body. As he looked up, someone behind him screamed, and he heard the girls pressing their backs against the EVAC vessel. Had he not been so awestruck, that would have also been his reaction but something about what he saw was captivating, arousing, and unique on a literal grand scale. It was a woman.

She looked down at them, although reading her face was difficult because it was so far away. Was she fifty-feet tall? Sixty? He wasn’t sure, but as he stood there trying to figure out what was happening, she began to drop to her knees. Adam braced himself for impact, but she deliberately slowed down, cushioning herself as her knees touched the landing pad. Now, they could see her face in great detail, the stark blue eyes, the long, red hair. She looked exactly human, if not for the scale.

“Greetings. I assume you are Crea?” she asked. Crea was the universal word for what earthlings once called human—but human wasn’t quite right anymore, not since first contact, because there were billions of species who shared the earthlings’ DNA makeup. Adam just nodded.

“We’ve never seen your race before, but we assumed you would be small statured like all the rest. My name is Helia. Welcome to Gala.”
