Description:
A year after Alice and Vivian flooded a financial district in blue and red, Marianne is serving tea in a maid café called Wonderland—same black Mary Janes, same leftover vial she still can’t reverse.
Alice ducks in at seven and a half feet. Vivian follows in crimson, seven even, and they want a table, macarons, and an honest answer: when Marianne watches the footage, what does she actually feel?
They have learned how to grow on purpose. They have learned how to shrink just enough to walk among normal people. And they know she still has one dose left.
(Drink Me sequel, size difference, growth/shrink control, Alice costumes)
Excerpt:
The maid café was called Wonderland—which was either ironic or the universe having a laugh at her expense. It occupied the second floor of a narrow building on Clement Street, accessible by a steep flight of stairs that management had inexplicably carpeted in red.
The ceiling suddenly felt very low.
Alice Edwards had to angle her shoulders to fit through the doorframe. She was dressed exactly as she’d been in every piece of leaked footage—the blue dress, white apron, black bow in her blond hair. The Mary Janes on her feet were each the length of a surfboard. She was, at a conservative estimate, seven and a half feet tall. She grinned as if she’d just won something.
Behind her came Vivian, all in red, and a bit shorter—likely seven feet even. She wore the crimson costume Marianne had seen her wearing as she detonated their entire laboratory with the force of a particularly enthusiastic orgasm. Her dark hair was loose around her shoulders. She looked around the café with leisurely interest.
“Table for two,” said Alice in a booming voice, to no one in particular.
For a moment, no one moved. Then a junior staff member named Priya made a noise that was technically a squeak. Marianne set down the dessert menu she’d been holding and then walked toward them instead.
“I’ll take this one,” she said, for no reason she could rationally explain.
They took the corner table, which had the best structural support and the most ceiling clearance.
Alice folded herself into a chair that groaned but held. Vivian sat across from her, knees nearly touching the underside of the tabletop, and picked up a laminated menu with two fingers like it was a business card.
“You have macarons,” she said, pleased.
“Yep,” said Marianne, sounding a little disinterested. She pulled out her notepad. “What can I get you?”
“Whatever’s good,” said Alice. “Sit down, Marianne. We’re not here for the macarons.”
